GLOBAL YOGA CALLS ON UN DAYS

At the International Yoga Federation (IYF), we believe yoga is not only a personal practice but also a universal call for peace, health, and harmony. To strengthen this vision, IYF organizes Global Yoga Calls on selected United Nations International Days.

These calls are collective yoga sessions and awareness activities designed to highlight the connection between yoga and the most pressing challenges of our world — from climate action and human rights to health, equality, and peace.

By aligning our practice with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), IYF brings together people from diverse cultures and nations, creating a shared space of unity and transformation.

Why Global Calls Matter

  • Awareness: Each session is dedicated to raising consciousness on a specific global issue.

  • Solidarity: Practitioners worldwide join at the same time, fostering a sense of collective action.

  • Change: Yoga becomes a tool for healing both individuals and communities while contributing to a sustainable future.

GLOBAL CALLS

Global Calls — International Yoga Federation

IYF Global Calls bring together yoga practitioners worldwide for health, awareness, and peace — fully volunteer-led, with local sponsorships managed independently by partner organizations.

Why does IYF organize Global Calls?

To create an inclusive, borderless space for collective practice and learning. Global Calls enable simultaneous participation from multiple countries, reducing geographical and economic barriers through an online format. IYF provides global coordination and thematic guidance; implementation and funding are handled locally by members and sponsors.

What happens during a Global Call?

  • Guided yoga practices (breath, asana, relaxation) and short awareness talks.
  • Theme-based micro sessions (peace, health, education, environment, inclusion).
  • Interactive Q&A and community sharing to strengthen global solidarity.

How are Global Calls reported?

Each call is documented with a brief Activity Note (date, theme, facilitators, participation), a visual summary (1–3 graphics/photos), and—where relevant—links to partner pages. Annual highlights are consolidated in the IYF Annual Activity & Impact Report.

How do we encourage participation?

  • Open and free access — volunteer-led sessions and multilingual moderation.
  • Global outreach via IYF members, partner networks, and social media announcements.
  • Post-event sharing of visuals and key takeaways to inspire continued engagement.

Protocol

  • Respectful communication; inclusive language and equal speaking space.
  • Consent for recording/screenshots when applicable; privacy is observed.
  • Non-commercial: no sales or fees; sponsorships are managed locally by partners.
  • Timekeeping: sessions start/end on time; facilitators follow the agreed theme.

Ethical Principles of International Yoga Experts (IYEC Network)

Ethical Principles of International Yoga Experts (IYEC Network)

The International Yoga Expert Community (IYEC) upholds the ethical and professional standards of the International Yoga Federation (IYF).
Every registered expert carries the mission of spreading IYF yoga teachings, fostering awareness, and serving humanity with responsibility, integrity, and compassion.

Commitment to Ethics and Conduct
An IYEC expert embodies honesty, non-violence (ahimsa), humility, and a service-oriented mindset. They represent yoga not only through technique but through personal example—practicing compassion, inclusivity, and respect toward all students, regardless of their background, beliefs, or abilities.

Teaching Responsibilities
An IYEC expert teaches with mindfulness, precision, and care. Each class aims to guide students toward self-awareness and personal transformation rather than focusing on performance or competition. The expert ensures the safety and physical-emotional well-being of participants, providing individual attention when needed and respecting personal boundaries.

Attitude Toward Students and Members
Students are not clients; they are practitioners on a path of growth. An expert listens, guides, and encourages without judgment or comparison. Toward fellow members, they maintain kindness, solidarity, and discretion, fostering a spirit of cooperation rather than rivalry within the IYF community.

Building New Membership and Awareness
Experts promote the authentic values of IYF and invite new participants through example, communication, and local engagement. They never use coercion, personal gain, or misleading promises to attract members. The best way to inspire new membership is to live yoga — to let peace, awareness, and transformation naturally radiate through one’s teaching and lifestyle.

Relationship with Other Experts
IYEC experts are global collaborators who are encouraged to exchange experiences, co-lead workshops, and support each other’s initiatives. Mutual respect and knowledge sharing strengthen the IYF’s international harmony and credibility.

Responsibilities Toward IYF
Each expert acts as a representative of the International Yoga Federation’s mission and vision. They are encouraged to contribute to IYF programs, reports, festivals, championships, global yoga calls in the UN International Days, and awareness campaigns. Participation in global events—such as the World Yoga Championship, Yoga & Awareness Festival, or UN-aligned activities — strengthens both personal visibility and the collective impact of yoga worldwide. Experts are also expected to provide updates on their teaching activities and maintain the transparency of the IYF network.

Responsibility Toward Yoga Itself
Yoga is a discipline, not a commercial product. An IYEC expert upholds the foundational principles of yoga, teaching it as a path to awareness, balance, and liberation. They avoid using yoga for political, ideological, or exploitative purposes and remain committed to its essence—the unity of body, mind, and spirit.

Global Cooperation and Social Impact
Every expert contributes to a broader vision: peace, awareness, and transformation across nations. Through social projects, educational collaborations, and local initiatives, these experts help promote yoga as a path toward harmony and global well-being.

Promotion and Participation in IYF Events
Promoting IYF activities is an ethical responsibility for every expert. By sharing and participating in global events, they help unify voices of awareness and strengthen international recognition of yoga as a tool for peace and unity. Participation also reinforces credibility — showing students and institutions that they are part of a vibrant, active global federation.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA & AWARENESS FESTIVALS

Seminars for Global Peace and Unity International Yoga & Awareness Festival Series

International Yoga & Awareness Festival banner

The International Yoga & Awareness Festivals are global gatherings coordinated by the International Yoga Federation (IYF) in collaboration with independent partner organizations, yoga schools, and volunteer networks in various countries. Each festival combines practical yoga sessions with educational seminars focusing on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly on peacebuilding, climate action, gender equality, health, and social inclusion.

IYF’s role is to provide the global coordination framework, thematic guidance, and international outreach for these festivals, while the implementation, funding, and logistics are managed by local member organizations, sponsors, and partner institutions. All activities are conducted on a voluntary and non-profit basis, supported by the contributions of IYF members and the generosity of sponsors.

The seminars, titled "Seminars for Global Peace and Unity," serve as international dialogue platforms that promote awareness and collective action. Experts, practitioners, and participants from diverse backgrounds explore how inner transformation through yoga and awareness practices can contribute to outer harmony and sustainable peace. Through guided practices, interactive discussions, and exchange of knowledge, participants discover how individual awareness can drive collective progress.

These festivals not only inform but also inspire—building bridges between communities, fostering compassion, and empowering global citizens to contribute to a more peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable world in alignment with the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

Note: IYF acts as a coordinating and advisory body for all International Yoga & Awareness Festivals. The financial and operational responsibilities are managed independently by local partners and sponsors.
